The last few weeks have been some of the scariest & most wonderful of my life!
If you were keeping track of my pregnancy, you probably figured out baby Skylar was 8 weeks early. Long story short, at just 31 weeks I went into pre-term labor, after a few days in the hospital, the doctors sent me home on heavy medication bedrest. At 32 weeks & 3 days (6-16-09) I went into labor again, this time there was no stopping it, Skylar was ready to come into the world.
She came out crying & needed no oxygen support, which is amazing for a baby of her age. Still, because Skylar was so small & born at such an early gestation, she has had to stay in the hospital NICU the last few weeks. She is doing great & all the doctors are impressed with her progress, we hope to have her home in the next 2 weeks. It has been difficult not being able to spend every waking moment with your newborn, even though we travel back & forth to the hospital to see her several times a day. She is already so loved & Dave & I can't wait to have our baby girl home.
Below are a few updated pictures of Skylar, now almost 5 lbs. she is so awesome, it's crazy we now have our own little family! I also wanted to include a few pictures from the beautiful baby showers I had in Colorado & Las Vegas....I never got a chance to post these before Skylar arrived since I went into labor the day after my Vegas baby shower!!
